No analog audio option? MacBook Pro M1

I’ve searched everywhere online and nothing works. There’s no “configure video” option that would prompt up the analog audio as well. Is it cuz there’s no options yet for m1 apple products yet?

Hi Mutleg,

You should be able to add an analogue audio source without issue. In your scene, add an Audio Input Capture source, choose add new, then select the analogue in. This functionality works on M1.

It's hard to answer for your exact situation as you haven't given many details of your setup. How are you inputting your analogue audio (external recorder or through the MacBook's audio jack)? What is it you're plugging in? Have you tested this setup with another system?

Hey,
Sorry about that, I use the elgato chat link cable to connect my analog audio from my console to my elgato hd60s+ (I have both ps5 and Xbox series ). I have tried it on my pc before and it worked fine in having an option to Input via analog audio, but there is none for my MacBook. I have tried your suggestion before as well and nothing seems to pop up for it. I don’t know if it’s just bugged for me only or I’m missing something.

Thanks for the extra info.

My apologies, when I looked over the analogue input options I thought I saw line in when it was just the built-in mic.

Looking at the last response to this question on the Apple forums, you'll need a TRRS adapter to split out the mic input: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252632599

I'll let you do the research on which one – this is all a quick search away.

If you have a smartphone headset to plug in you will find it works - that's because it has the TRRS adapter instead of TRS. The input only appears when active.

Just plug those acronyms into your search engine if you're unsure what I'm talking about.
