Newbie question - Problems with recording NTSC VHS via UK Pal VCR

Hi there.

New member and first post! I'm based in the UK and have a large collection of VHS tapes, some of which I've been digitising to MKV. For years I've been laboriously using a DVD recorder with scart input to transfer the VHS to DVD and then using my Mac and Handbrake to convert the DVD to MKV. Up to this point I haven't been able to digitise NTSC VHS tapes as while my VCR is able to play both PAL and NTSC VHS, the DVD recorder would only recognise a PAL signal.

I've only recently discovered the delights of OBS! I bought a HDMI USB capture card which I can now directly connect to my Windows laptop using a scart to HDMI converter that recognises both PAL and NTSC signals.

I recently captured a PAL VHS recording using this set-up with no issues whatsoever (this guide was a big help). But I've tried several attempts to capture an NTSC VHS and the resulting image is stuttering and at one point the audio stops altogether.

So as I've said I'm in the UK using a VCR that is able to play both PAL and NTSC VHS tapes. The VCR is connected to a powered Scart to HDMI converter that is able to recognise different signals/input and output accordingly.

You can see a picture of the button options of the converter here:

And I'm using a HDMI capture card to connect the HMDI to my laptop (this one). When I play the VHS, this info from the scart/hdmi converter is displayed:

So I suppose my question is, what OBS settings would I need to be able to record the NTSC VHS without any stutter, audio drops etc? I've no idea if this would be enough info for someone to help but I'd be happy to provide more!

Thanks for your help.
