Newbie Audio Confusion

Hello all,

I am very new to streaming and trying to get everything set up. I have everything working perfectly except when I start streaming on twitch with my headphones plugged into my PS5 controller I can hear the audio but the stream cannot. When I pull the headphones out of the controller the stream can hear the gameplay but I cannot. How do I get it to where I can hear the game audio and the stream can hear it at once? I feel like I have scoured the internet trying to find a solution but I can't. I have messed with the settings, I have tried to add another audio input source, I have messed with the settings on my PS5 but nothing is working. I do not have a chat link cord plugged in because the same thing was happening with that one. I also don't need to pick up chats as I am just playing MLB the Show.

PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I GO CRAZY

Probably best if you updated post title to indicate a PS5 specific issue/question.
I say this as I don't have a PS5, so don't know if there is a PS5 setting or if it is a hardware thing (ie plug in headphones and that disables Audio out over HDMI? or something like that...)

Your post is unclear to me in terms of whether plugging in the headphones on the PS5 itself is causing the PS5 to NOT output audio as you desire (ie nothing to do with OBS Studio and that computer). You mention settings but not which settings, where, etc.
My go to recommendation.... test Sources outside of OBS Studio entirely (meaning OBS Studio NOT running, not just in background... real technical reasons why I say this). Are you using NDI, or I'm assuming you are using HDMI out into a HDMI capture 'card' [USB capture device]? Have you plugged that HDMI output into a regular monitor and checked audio there?
Assuming you are using HDMI out and capture, use a regular monitor/TV and get audio working on headphones and TV/monitor before involving OBS Studio and/or capture. Or, depending on nature of PS5, you may need to get an audio splitter so output to both headphones and to OBS Studio PC (though this probably wouldn't be desirable due to audio sync considerations and extra analog/digital conversions)

Hopefully you'll get someone more knowledgeable on PS5 to comment (especially if you update thread title)
