Question / Help Newb Needs A Few Answers

Hello,

I recently started messing around with OBS for screen capture recording. I've tried searching here, but not having luck. I very well may not know the right terms to be searching for. Any help is appreciated regarding...

1)I see options for positioning the scene, some bounding box options, etc, but I'm not very clear on those options. My preference is to just do things manually and I was hoping I could grab the bounding box and make adjustments, but it's not behaving as I'd hoped. I can easily grab and drag and adjust the size of the scene, but how is it possible to adjust what part of your screen is being captured? For example, if I want to only record what's displayed within 1 web browser window, without showing the tabs, etc how can I accomplish that kind of adjustment?

2)I was able to record audio with an external mic, but part way through playback, it begins to echo. On a couple tests, I've had the audio start to echo part way though and do that for the duration, or start echoing then going back to normal. There are occasional audio pops/crackles as well. (Running a Focusright 2i4 soundcard, by the way). I also had a pop up tell me it had to change colors because of CPU drag. I assume all of these glitches are because of CPU drag, but I'm not really sure. Any insight? Which brings me to...

3)It's possible to allocate resources to the GPU instead of the CPU, correct? Is there a place to see what graphics cards do/don't allow for this? I currently have an ATI Radeon HD 4600 on Win 7 64bit I5-2500K @3.3GHz with 8GB RAM. Will an upgrade in GPU help with the sound issue in #2? FYI- I don't do any gaming.

Please explain like I'm a 7 year old. Totally new to this. Thx!
