Since YouTube switched off the Classic Creator Studio our church had been experiencing occasional buffering issues with out YouTube LiveStream. Eventually we managed to pin it down to whether or not the AV operator had started the OBS streaming before going in to the new YT Creator Studio. If the AV operator then realised that the stream hadn't gone live on YT and stopped the OBS stream, went to YT Creator Studio and clicked Go Live and then immediately started the stream in OBS we nearly always got issues with delays and buffering.
The purpose of this post is to twofold - to flag up to others who may like us be used to the old way of doing things when all you had to do was start streaming in OBS and everything just worked and secondly to flag up that there may be a bug in OBS that is triggered by this sequence of actions.
