Hi! Brand new user. I borrowed a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950Q from a friend to upload some of my old 8mm videotapes that were recorded on my Sharp Viewcam VL-E34. I'm trying to go directly from the camera to the 950Q to OBS without much luck. The camera has a single RCA (white) cable and an RCA (yellow) cable.
OBS recognizes the 950Q without any problem. I used all the default settings. Set it up as a Video Capture Device. Tried it, got nothing but snow on the screen and no audio.
Messed around with a few Resolution/FPS settings with no luck.
Should I be able to go directly from the camera to the 950Q?
Plan B - Tried it with my Sony VCR. Same issues, nothing on the screen. Uninstalled, reinstalled, kept all the defaults. The log is the latest attempt (with the VCR, not the camera). I'm using the S-Video input to the 950Q. I even tried pulling the S-Video cable out to see if the "snow" changed. It doesn't.
Clearly I'm lost.
