If you are streaming/recording from the same rig that you are gaming from make sure that you are using nvenc(new) in your output settings.

Set a reasonable bitrate for your upload speed as well as the platform that you're streaming to. Start out at a resolution like 720p and 30fps and do some tests until you see stuttering again, if you are new to streaming you may want to be using 720p anyways so people dont have as much trouble watching you, but if you can manage it use 60fps.

In some more demanding titles or titles where your fps is quite high you may need to cap your fps a little to ensure OBS still has some wiggle room from your GPU because if the game is taking all of the GPU power you will notice some dropping frames.

Thise are just thr basics to look out for, I hope that helps, for more detailed info you can check up some setup guides and stuff on YouTube.

my setting in obslive are:
Base Resolution 1920x1080
output resolution 1600x900
FPS 60
Nvidia nvenc h.264 (new)
rate control CBR
6000 bitrate

unchecked look ahead and phycho visual tuning
gpu 0
max bframes 2

its ok on some games but on battle royales it starts to become choppy
