Question / Help New Stream (Kinda) Setup...

Hello All,

So I will briefly explain my issue and what I have done to try and rectify it.

I have been trying to use NDI previously with a two PC setup to stream 1080p @ 60fps, OBS to capture on the main gaming PC and Stream Labs OBS to receive on the streaming PC. After having numerous issues with this, I decided after buying my new gaming rig that I will try and stream from my main PC and cutting out the second.

Here are my PC/Hardware specs:
OS: Win10 Pro 64-bit
Monitor 1: 2560 x 1440p @ 144Hx (G-Sync)
Monitor 2: 1920 x 1080p @ 144Hz
CPU: i9 9900k
GPU: RTX 2080Ti
RAM: 32GB RAM
HD: vNAND SSD

Router/Internet:
1GBPS
Cat 7a Cable
75MBPS Down
20MBPS Up

Stream Settings:
Base Canvas: 2560 x 1440
Scaled Resolution: 1280 x 720 (Ideally would like 1080p but using 720p for testing)
Framerate: 60FPS
Bitrate: 4000
Encoder: x264
Keyframe Interval: 1
Process Priority: High
CPU Preset: Medium

My Issue:
In-game stutter whilst playing
Choppy stream
Frames reporting incorrectly on OBS application, shows 60 FPS but definitely doesn't look it.

What I have tried:
Capping frame-rates on the game to free up more VRAM for OBS to utilise
Enabling v-sync
Disabling certain Windows Features (Gaming Modes etc)
Tried window capture as opposed to game capture
Tried various different Bitrates
Tried various CPU Presets
Changed samping modes (ideally would like to use the 32bit sampling but would settle for 16bit)

Would love to know some further tests which I can run, I would like to stay clear of the NDI discussion for now though, unless you guys think that either this or a capture card would solve my issues.

Thanks, look forward to hearing from you :)

You have a complex setup with numerous possible sources of issues. You didn't show OBS logs of both of your PC with a recording/streaming session that exhibit your issue. You use a different piece of software at on of your PCs (Streamlabs OBS is not supported in this forum). It can be every possible issue, since your setup never worked before.

Try to make only one step after the previous step. Don't try to make the whole system work in one big bang.
Make your streaming PC work as you intend it should work, then make your gaming PC work as you intend it should work. Only if they both work ok independently from each other, they are able to work ok together.
