Question / Help Need your input! Massive frame drops and lag (but it used to work!)

The only thing I've changed is the NVIDIA drives and keeping OBS Studio updated.

Game capture used to work like a champ. Then only when the game was windowed. Then it was stuttery. Now it's ... well, see for yourself -

Used to be champion though -

Log file included. Hope someone has a few ideas for me. Thanks all!

A little update.

I was able to dial out that massive stuttering you see in the example video by limiting the game to 30fps.

Now, obviously you can't really play this sim at 30fps but I'm hoping this plus the log might spark some ideas to try from one of you OBS wizards.

While I didnt receive any insight from the forum ... I thought I would come back and let someone know with a similar problem that this issue stems from having the crop filter applied to the game capture source. Removing this filter (and capturing in window mode) "fixed" the issue.

Interesting. I have the same exact issue. I use game capture. Get major issues when output 60FPS but when I switch to 30FPS there's no issue.

I will have to try your fix, however you said removing the filter AND capturing in window mode fixed it? Or just removing the crop filter? I actually don't have my game capture filtered with crop... so I will have to try window capture nonetheless.

Ahh, I might have been confusing in my solution.

If the GAME is full screen I still have issues with GAME CAPTURE. If I put the game in windowed mode and still using GAME CAPTURE its fine.

I think the crop filter is taking a snap of the full screen game before sending to obs to render thus still having the massive stutter issues. My workaround circumvents any full screen capturing.

Hope thats a tad more clear!
