Need streamlabs obs recording settings

Hey, So I have a G7 7588 with a cpu 8th gen i7-8750h and gtx 1060 with max q gpu. I do run a el gato hd60s from my laptop, to a cheap basic 1080p onn pc monitor with my laptop screen set to nothing when lid is closed. I'm not trying to stream with obs, i'm just trying to record my gamplay footage of smite, cs:go and etc. I have tried a few different output settings and video settings. And I've been tripping over, back and forth with game settings of 1080p minimum, low, settings to 720p minimum, low, settings. It always seem to run good for a minute or so, then a lag spike or something of that nature and then repeats. Curious what type of settings should I be using to best serve my low budget gaming laptop. I attached screen shots of my settings.

p.s. or maybe my laptop is just obsolete and I need to upgrade.
