Question / Help Need Stereo Audio for Stream

It seems that with a stand alone sound card that the only channel available is a mic/aux channel. I get audio from this channel but I find that audio only outputs to the left channel.

The work around has been to force a mono signal but I'm looking for a stereo solution as I am using the software to broadcast music sets. Mono kills the aim. Any suggestions? I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 V. 2

Thanks in advance and thanks for putting this program together.

Ok so 5 views no comments yet. Am I making a false assumption? Does my external have to default to aux only? Is there an easy way to separate aux and mic for stereo sound?

Hi Steve
I have a v1 2i2 and I have "interesting" mono/stereo issues with it.
I have my mic connected to the 2i2 via XLR cable, this should create a mono signal as far as I can tell. When I look at the Sound, Recordring Devices, Line-in 2- Scarlett 2i2 USB and look at the Advanced options I can only set the Format to a stereo format, if I choose a mono format Windows just tells me that my device does not support that format.

So before OBS I have a mono signal that Windows thinks is stereo :-)

In OBS I have to go to Edit, Advanced Audio Properties and click Downmix to Mono against my Mic/Aux entry which then strangely forces stereo (with a small loss in gain).

As far as I know this is kind of expected with the 2i2 v1, it's expected to be used by a DAW and with the right software I would be able to set it to a Mono signal inside the DAW avoiding the Windows config. From what I have read the 2i2 v2 has a driver which allows you to set this in Windows as well.

Not sure if that helps
