6600k than, doesn't have hyperthreading, but that doesn't make a big differents with x264. So that one should be fine.

I beg to differ. Hyperthreading is very important with streaming. I'd advise OP to save up more for at LEAST a quad core with hyperthreading. e.g. the 6700k seems to be the sweet spot. Because either way, OP is going to need to purchase a new motherboard and ram along with the CPU.

10-15% performance differents are very important? i don't think so

I don't understand why people always say "you need an i7 6700K to stream".
No, you don't. I used to have a 9 year old 2.4 GHz Q6600 CPU with DDR2 memory.
I streamed 720p 30 fps without any problems with that config.
Today I have an i5 6600K and it handles streaming just fine.
I stream 720p 60 fps 3500 bitrate with no problems.
So don't say that you need an i7 6700K or a second PC with a capture card to be able to stream.
Most games don't use that many cores either. It's very rare that a game use more than 2 cores.

You don't need an i7-6700K or <insert-current-high-end-CPU-here> to stream, but it can certainly help. I use an i5-3570K which works pretty well for my purposes, but it would probably not work very well with newer high-demand games if I tried to stream at higher resolutions or framerates.

Similarly, number of cores doesn't much matter if the games aren't optimized for multicore anyway. If you max out a core, processes on that core are going to fight for CPU time and will likely suffer.

That said, all of this is rather academic. @MissClickMaster said:

The Core2 Duo E8400 uses Socket LGA775. None of the processors suggested in this thread support that socket (except the Q6600, which is almost 10 years old and no longer supported by Intel), so you cannot just upgrade the CPU. You would need a whole new motherboard at that point.

You could get a new Q6600 from NewEgg for $245, which is within your price range, but realistically, you'd be putting money into a system that very likely just needs fully replaced. In my opinion, you'd be better off saving that $250 towards a new system.

ok thank you, would it be better to get a whole new system or a new motherboard that supports what i already have excluding the processor

That number is meaningless and pulled from where? Out of a hat?

I don't see where anyone in this thread said anything about "need". And that's great, but I need my 6900k to be able to stream 1080 60fps, stronger cpu preset, 8000 bitrate.

Like others have said, OP, you're better off upgrading. That era of hardware you're using is pretty dated.
