Need help with video display problem in OBS from USB video capture source.

I am seeing little video glitches (brief flashes of pixilation, every few seconds, mostly in the lower half of the display) in OBS while viewing VHS playback from a DigitNow USB 2.0 device. But the same video input is fine (no glitches like that at all) when I use the Honestech software that comes with the device, so it does not seem to be a problem with the tape or the VCR.

I am trying to use OBS as a means to fix audio delay/sync issues that I am having with the video capture device, but that's a different issue. I need to have clean video in OBS first. I am a Windows user, and new to OBS (though I am starting to get familiar with settings). My objective is to convert VHS home videos to digital files. This is my first post. Looking for some advice, please. Thanks!

This isn't really a reply, I too am new to OBS and am trying to convert VHS to digital and need advice on settings. I tried scaling the output to 4:3 but OBS continues to stretch the image to 16:9. What settings did you find useful? I'm using the Mac version with video capture device. Any help would be appreciated.
