Hi im extremely new here but I do visit this forum alot for tips and resources OBS has saved my stream from xSplit but now it seems like its almost a better choice for a problem I am having in OBS Studio.

Recently I have been streaming my games through the Xbox App but it keeps tanking so I dusted off the ole Roxio card and hooked it up with studio...but the only problem I am having is my stream can hear the audio but I cant. I went in to the settings of the capture card via OBS studio and clicked properties and came across the audio output mode was set to Capture audio only. the other options were output desktop audio for either directsound or wave out. When I select either one my capture goes blank unless I select a custom audio device (which the only one active under my recording devices is my blue mic). This is literally my only problem i have and then i should be fine.

Im puzzled on how to get my in game sound to work for both my stream and I. Is there a possible work around I can use if this is still in development or something or am I missing something very simple. Any help will be appreciated

Audio monitoring is not yet implemented in studio. You use audio from the passthrough on the card or use an hdmi splitter to split the output so you can use it.

If the capture card has an HDMI output passthrough port, it will just work, you just switch the display's input to the console via the capture card instead of from the computer.

If you're seeing the audio indicator for your roxio in the mixer of obs move when it's active, your stream is getting audio. When you turn up your TV, you will get the audio yourself.

Right I understand the only issues I'll be running into with that is being able to hear my alerts and my clan when I am with them.. I guess this where obs has implemented the audio monitoring?
