I am trying to setup my stream to do certain things. I am currently having trouble trying to get the audio to do what I'd like it to do. For clarity, I am able to get things working for normal use, I'd like to do something a little different and I am not sure if I can.
This is what I'd like to do:
Stream and record gameplay while playing music in the background, using sound effects and streamlabs popup sounds. However I want all audio on separate tracks and I don't want to record or stream desktop audio. Here's the list:
Mic
Game
Music Player Program
Sound Effects from Soundboard Program
Sound Effects from Streamlabs/Twitch Popups
Now I am easily able to get the Mic working fine.
The rest work fine as well under desktop audio track. However they are all under 1 track and get noise from other programs I want to keep off stream and recordings.
I can't get OBS to capture just the games audio as a track. No options show up that let's me link to a program but game capture and that obviously isn't capturing the audio in the first place. I would imagine whatever method I use to capture game audio I can use to capture the music player and soundboard programs so whatever solution you can give me solves 3/4 problems.
I have no clue how to go about capturing the audio from streamlabs popups. I am not even sure yet where that audio is coming out from. I am still very new(I have done a couple streams for the sake of testing and dipping toes) and I have no real experience with streamlabs short of seeing other streamers use it to display when someone subs and other things and ~5mins of tinkering. I do want to stream whatever sound effect I end up using and I imagine the lose of desktop audio would make it difficult to impossible.
The reason I need all audio in separate tracks is for when I go to edit the recording I want to be able to take out the background music I play on stream as well as sound effects and sometimes even the game. I plan to have 4 tiers of YT videos: short edited highlights, short un-edited plain highlights for compil. channels to use, edited highlight games and the entire stream broken up into ~30min raw sections.
For clarity as well, I don't think I'd have an issue setting up the tracks in OBS to do what I want. I just can't get the tracks made is all.
