Question / Help Need Help Recording!

I have been used OBS with some difficulty. I want to record games, but am having a lot of trouble. Before I begin, I am updated to the latest OBS Studio. I can choose display capture and record anything that isn't games. I can watch YouTube videos with no lag, but as soon as I open a game, the recording fps goes from a butter smooth 60fps to 5-10 fps, which is unwatchable. Then I choose game capture and I choose my game, but then the screen goes black. You can hear me and my game, but you can't see anything. All my setting are pretty much at the default. My computer is running a i7-6700HQ and a 1060 so that shouldn't be a problem. Can anyone help me please?

That should be the display capture that lags when I play a game. Should I record a game capture and put that log here also?

This is not a log with a recording attempt. Look for a log that says Recording Start or something like that and post that. You could also record and put that log here.

To get a logfile that displays a recording or streaming attempt, run OBS Studio, play a game and hit record or stream, let it record or stream for ~30 seconds or so (Whilst you run around in the game doing what you would normally do) then stop the recording/streaming of the game play, then upload the current logfile once OBS Studio has switched the record/stream button back to 'Start Record/Stream'.

Use NVIDIA Control panel and set OBS to run on your GTX 1060.
