I've recently really wanted to start streaming. I have messed with the settings a lot and I just can't figure out what to do and need some advice. I would love to achieve at least 720p and 60fps because I feel like less is being lazy and I want nice quality.

I have a Nvidia gtx 1060 and a i5-6400 cpu @ 2.70GHz, 2712 MHz, 4 Cores.(maybe I should include more than this for specs lemme know) :)

I have about 5 ping, 120mb down, and about 12.5 upload, so I''ve tried using around 2500-5000 bitrate.

There have been a few videos I have watched to try and get the best settings for my computer but they always seem to drop my frames a lot and it dips down quite a bit. One game I use to test the framerate and when it dips is fortnite. Usually I sit around 180-200 fps, but when I stream it dips to about 110-140 with occasional dips depending on where I look at. This is all with settings mostly on very low, v sync disabled, etc.

At first I tried the x264 encoder, but that ran my cpu too hard and obs would give me encoding errors while streaming and the stream would freeze up making it unusable. Adding onto this, when fortnite is open without streaming, my cpu is still being used at 100%. I used veryfast for my cpu usage preset, and set profile to main, key interval 2, leaving the rest default. Maybe I can change something here and get this to work because it doesn't sacrifice the quality and frames I play with in game as much as the gpu encoder.

For the NVENC H.264 encoder the settings i used were, key interval 2, preset: high quality, Profile: high, and everything else default except a video I watched told me to disable two-pass encoding (not sure if I should or not). This encoder worked and would allow me to stream at 1080p to 720p 60fps, but I used 720 mostly to try and get the best performance from my pc. However, this took a huge toll on my framerate in games and I would really prefer to have at least 144fps along with my 144hz monitor so I don't look at a bunch of eye mushing gameplay while I try to stream and play. lol

I would be extremely thankful if someone could help me figure out how to achieve at least 720p and 60fps with my setup without a huge sacrifice to my ingame fps and quality when its already pretty low. I know Tyler1 has a pretty terrible pc and still manages to stream well with worse internet also thrown in the mix. What do I know, maybe my computer can't stream how I would like it to, but that's why I'm on here asking for help. Thanks for reading. :)
