I decided to get into the streaming and YouTube game a couple weeks ago(was going to play games on my PS4, hence my no knowledge on computers) - with almost no knowledge on computers and I just got a computer donated to me by someone in my family. I thought I'd take it - the perfect opportunity to start up what I had been wanted to be doing for a long time. So, I got the computer and tried to download OBS, only to figure out that my computer has a 32 bit processor. So, I thought I could get around that by just using the ElGato - their website said that it would run on my computer with my specs, so I figured I had made a way around using OBS and still was going to look professional. The ElGato definitely runs on the computer - Optiplex 755 with 2.33 GHz and 2.0 Active RAM - but the lag is unreal and I was disappointed to find out that I spent the money on the ElGato only to figure out that I would need to buy a pretty expensive computer, for a 17 year old with only a seasonal job.
So, my question is, what computer do I get? I'm willing to save up for it and buy a really good one that will last for a good amount of time, but I also want it to be on the cheaper side so that I can get it relatively soon. I'd prefer it to be a laptop, so that I can use it for notes at school as well. Thanks for your guys' time and I will really appreciate anyone who takes the time to help me out.
