Question / Help Need 1 audio source to remain constant through 2 scenes

I am making a simple powerpoint video. All I need is for audio from my source media, (an mp4 video of a recorded speech), to continue to run as I transition between showing a powerpoint image slide show and the live video. I have already tried to double the mp4 source and attach it under the slide show, but after having recorded the whole thing, have noticed that audio skips between transitions. Is there any way to use the audio track from the media source for both the video and the slide show without this happening?

Are you playing the MP4 with an OBS media source per scene? That probably won't work because each media source per scene is opened and closed on a scene change.

An idea...

Play the recorded speech with Windows Media player. Use the media keys on your keyboard (if you have one) to start, stop, and pause.
Whatever you have setup to be the default Windows playback audio device will receive the media player output.
You want to make the default playback to be your headphones and not speakers. This, to avoid echo from the mic and for you to hear its location in the speech.

Hope that makes sense.

Disable "Restart playback when source becomes active"

Also, double check under "Edit" -> "Advanced Audio Properties" that your Media Source audio is set to "Monitor off" or "Monitor and Output" if you need to hear it.

Okay you have two scenes will call them scene 1 and scene 2.
you have audio that plays in scene 1 but you wanted to keep playing when you transition to scene 2.
In OBS take the source of the audio in scene 1, copy that source and paste it into scene 2 .
then when you transition between the two scenes that same source is there and it will continue to play.
This works for both audio and video sources.
