NDI source not found in OBS

When selecting an NDI source in OBS the NDI output from the main computer is not able to be selected in the drop down box. The source used to automatically be found by OBS but has stopped working. I know the NDI source is being sent by the other computer because I am able to receive it via other methods but is still not showing up in OBS.

Firewall? Windows updates?
NDI unfortunately requires working mdns infrastructure. It's a real pain that NDI can't be bound just to fixed ip addresses or fqdn hostnames instead. NDI sources and sinks have to dynamically find each other by the mdns protocol, which may suffer from changes in the computer environment by firewalls or updates to windows services.

Maybe someone else can help out with more detailled background information or specific hints.
