NDI feed from Windows PC to Mac is blurry

ThankyouOBS

Hello, I'm looking for a bit of advice regarding my NDI connection to my mac air M1. I have my windows PC running 29.0 with latest NDI and same goes for the mac. I'm connected by a gigabit switch via CAT5e ethernet and run the NDI stream from my Windows PC at 1080P to my Mac which has its base res and canvas set to 1080p. The problem is the recordings look ever so slightly blurry on my Mac, I have my recording set to X264 at 50,000kb/s and no scaling is necessary according to OBS because it's locked out. If I record on my Windows machine directly to OBS with the same preset there is no blurriness... I feel like the mac is scaling it weirdly but I'm not sure how. Any advice appreciated!

That cannot be enough for the bandwidth requirement for NDI 1080p signal, and secondly X264 at 50,000kb/s is way too overkill.
I would strongly recommend you use CAT6 or above.
Cat5e is gigabit speed - which is the same as my network switch - I don't see how that is the problem - if you can enlighten me on that I'd appreciate it. Afaik gigabit is recommended for NDI 1080p60 - I have been monitoring my network speeds on task manager and they don't reach come close to exceeding gigabit network speed.

50,000 kb/s was just so I could make sure it wasn't the bitrate.

There's something odd going on at the mac or ndi end, I really do think the mac is scaling the stream somehow. take a look at the pic attached - the top one is the local recording, the bottom is the mac recording - both x264 at 50,000kb/s

I just downloaded NDI Tools for my Win 11 PC and I'm running the screen capture application instead of OBS and the quality is much better when recording on over NDI to my mac. I don't know why but the obs ndi plug in delivers lower quality video at the same bitrate.

So what switch are you using?
