NDI and obs

So for church we are using 2 computers. 1 is a basic Mini PC that is running the powerpoint out to the projectors. 2 is the main streaming pc its running obs and is has the camera and sound coming into it and sending to youtube. We went to the 2 pc setup because I was tired of having the PowerPoint on the same computer as the stream as we needed one person controlling the stream/obs and one person controlling the PowerPoint. I looked around and found NDI. I installed it on both computers and connected no issue other than a lag of about 15 sec from when the powerpoint actually changed to when it showed on the obs computer/ stream. How do i get rid of the delay.. I was going to isolate both PC to there own switch but not sure if that is the correct thing. Right now there going to a wireless router.

NDI needs a HUGE amount of network throughput to work well. It can easily exceed the maximum throughput of 100B-T ethernet (needing gigabit between the machines). If the two machines are both on wifi, this would definitely cause a problem. There will always be some amount of delay, though it should be far less than 15 seconds. To remove it entirely, you'd need to use a video capture device instead, such as the Elgato HD60S.

I'm having an audio/video sync issue as well. Would this device work for me? I'm streaming fitness classes and using a wired logitech webcam and then a mic/mixer combo for sound into OBS.

Are you using two PCs, and NDI to relay the A/V data between them?
If not, it sounds like your issue is unrelated to the original topic of this thread, and should have a new one opened to discuss it instead.

I am only using one PC and was using NDI but switched. I did make a thread before I commented on this one but was looking back to see if I could find an answer. Thank you.
