Is there a naming variable available for the auto-filename function when recording, something beyond the date? It could be the URL of the webpage.

Yes, I know, but those are date and time related only. I need a variable that will insert something to identify the resulting file. I was thinking something like %URL for the URL of the page.

Oh. My other video capture program displays a tagline for the web page. For example, for this page the filename reads "(3) Question Help - Naming Variable OBS Forums". I thought it would be the something similar. I guess I'll manually change the name mask for each batch of recordings. Thanks for the information.

OBS can be configured to have dozens of sources in dozens of scenes, all potentially active only a click or two away. OBS doesn't really have any way of knowing which one of those would be important enough to be used for the filename, and then what would the program do when you switch to a different source in a different scene?
(I'm guessing that wouldn't affect you if you don't do that, but OBS really isn't intended, at least not solely, for just single window capture where the program parses information from a single privileged source like a browser window and considers THAT to be the thing that's being captured.)
