I guess this depends a lot on your audio config, I see that DFX installs as it's own device so I assume you are setting this as the Default in OBS? Can you post a screenshot of your Advanced Audio Properties, from the Edit menu, your Settings, Audio configuration and your Output Recording Tab.

Here you are. http://imgur.com/a/aV5Py DFX was selected as the audio device for recording but I don't know. It's odd that the effect is picked up during a live stream but not during a recording.
