My Xbox won't let me stream higher than 1080p

I have a 1440p monitor hooked up to my Series X. Using Vivitar capture card. I have it hooked up to my laptop. Once I connect everything the Xbox settings won't let me change to anything other than 720p or 1080p. Maybe I read something wrong but I thought the capture card I had could let me stream up to 4K.
