My voice in the monitor hangs behind

Hi together,

I'm quite new to OBS Studio for Mac but when I put my mic on the monitor output to hear myself and check the settings, after the 3rd word at the latest it becomes impossible to speak because my speech just arrives way too late on the headphones.
Do you know this? How can I fix this? Any ideas?

Don't use OBS for your monitor. Use something else if you really need one at all.

OBS's Monitor specifically, has extra problems compared to almost any other app. They've been known for a long time, still not fixed yet, and probably won't be fixed until OBS's entire audio system gets wiped out and replaced with something that's not a pile of band-aids on top of a very limited original concept. That's what the devs are working on now, on the audio side of things. Still in the early stages of it, so it's going to be a while.
