SOLVED - Apologies if anyone took the time to read this. I have pinpointed two issues - neither even related to OBS. It should've been obvious, but it slipped my mind.
The first type of corrupted file, where it's not readable, was due to low disc space.
The second type of corrupted file, where it would stutter badly, was... well... that was just the media player being crap. I loaded it up in VLC and it works fine!
I get the warning - that you have to be careful when using MP4 as the format when recording, but I don't exactly understand what's causing this issue.
It works fine at my house and it even works fine here too (GF's computer). Well, works fine here occasionally... It seems like it's a coinflip if the file is even readable and then another coinflip if it starts to stutter at an extreme rate.
Out of the past 5 recording sessions here:
- The most recent has yet to work at all
- The one prior had one corruption, but a few successes.
- The one before that was just a success
- The one before that was a success, except for 1 corruption.
- And the first of the sessions was about a 1/5 chance of working.
Her computer is not the best, which you'll see, but I don't understand why it's being so inconsistent. Having to re-do these videos is quite taxing.
