When I was looking over my videos that I recorded I noticed they were pretty low quality, didnt even look 720p. I looked on youtube and other sites for better obs settings and the settings all didnt seem to match my own. I cant seem to find out why.

I also was looking at other forum posts about my encoder which never seems to be the problem, My gpu is a 3070 desktop version and it still does not show up on the encoder. I was wondering if anyone could help? thx

Probably you need to install an updated video driver. Using gforce experience makes it easy.

Restart OBS and perform a test stream/recording of no less than 30 seconds doing as you normally do, including playing games, full camera or whatever you normally do.
Look in Help menu. Upload the current log file and paste the url to the log in here. Click on the Analize button to start troubleshooting common issues.

Don't use "Custom Output (FFMPEG)"
Instead, use "standard" and set the encoder to either "NVENC (new)" or "(use stream encoder)". If you use the latter, control the quality settings under the "streaming" tab under "output"
That should give you the same settings as everyone else.

I hope this helps.
