Question / Help My game audio and music/desktop audio doesn't record when i stream

I use OBS for mac.
I've checked that the stream can pick up my mic, but even though I set the desktop audio device to default, it doesn't pick up any of the music I play or the in-game sounds. What can I do about this?

OBS for Mac currently requires a second program to help it capture desktop audio. Download and install WavTap from https://github.com/pje/wavtap . Launch OBS, go to Settings > Audio, and select WavTap as your Desktop Audio device. I have same problem! While recording it pick up my mic, but somehow it cant pick up game audio, music, background audio.. like everything. I have windows.

That is a completely different issue, and is on Windows. This is the Mac section.

I followed the installation instructions and WavTap is working as expected but I am unable to hear my audio through my headset at the same time as it is being recorded. Is there any way to fix this?

Try using SoundFlower instead.

I tried that but SoundFlower didn't work for me whatsoever. I did some additional testing with WavTap and all I get is a terrible static noise.

Hi. Have the same problem and I downloaded WavTap, but when I go into OBS setting and choose Desktop Audio device, there is only the "disabled" option to choose from. Why is that, what have I missed, how do I add WaveTap to that list?

I have this same issue, but i downloaded the program suggeested in the top response, but it doesnt show up as an installable program
