My camera is not recognized after closing and re-opening OBS

I teach online using a virtual background (and am not tech savy) I taught this morning, everything was fine. I opened OBS a few hours later and my camera feed is missing. The scene still lists it - it looks active - but there is nothing but my virtual background in the picture. OBS has windows permission to access the camera and everything else seems fine. This doesn't always happen. I did open the camera directly (while OBS was closed) then wanted to check things with my background. No camera. Why? What do I have sent wrong and how do I fix it? I am also experiencing this, on multiple input sources (HD60, ATEM Mini) & on 2 different laptops. OBS Version is 25.0.8
I have it all set up and working fine. Stop OBS and close down. Next time I open it, the settings are right and showing the right source, but video is blank. There is a connection still, as I have the audio coming in on Audio Input, and that is moving up and down as expected. I have to manually add in the sources each time, which is a pain - and also if someone else is starting the stream, means that have to be taught something, when i want them to literally just hit Start Streaming.
