Mute OBS mic when discord is muted?

Hello,
I don't want OBS to always record my microphone in case I'm talking to someone, etc. Would it be possible to somehow have my OBS mic muted when it's muted on discord? I know I can set a hotkey, but sometimes I press the mute button on discord instead of my hotkey and I don't always have discord running. Would it be possible to write a discord and OBS plugin to achieve this?

The best way to get this done and never have a problem is by using VoiceMeeter. You control all the sound that goes to discord and obs in one place.
