Mute Media Source playback.

Hello,

I am trying to make a voiceover. I have the game clip saved as MP4 and I have successfully opened it as "Media Source", and also have my webcam added. My problem is that there is no sound on the playback that I would need.

My sound is working fine. Whenever I open the file in Windows Media Player or VLC, the sound works perfectly. I have also ensured that the "Desktop Audio" device is the correct one, being my headset(Arctic Pro Wireless).

The volume bars show there is obviously something going on when I play the video, but somehow the volume is muted or extremely low - I can't tell. I have tried to add "Gain" and tried to increase the volume of the to 2000%, but with no improvements.

The issue is I can't hear anything, and googling hasn't found me any solutions so I try here.

Ok my own log file solved my problem. I will share it here as it could prove useful for someone who is battling the same problem.

I recently changed headset from Logitech G935 Wireless to Arctis Pro Wireless. In "Settings"/"Audio" there is a tab called "Advanced" which determines your monitoring device. I had manually set it to G935 long ago, and since changing headset I had updated my audio device to Arctis Pro Wireless everywhere... except here.

So if you are having issues with monitoring audio, check out the monitoring device. Mine was my old headset, and the problem went away as I removed it.

Have a good start of the new year everyone!
