Hi people,
So basically I want music to play in the background of my stream. I play it via Spotify. Viewers can hear my music but it’s very faint. When I turn it up it comes through my laptop and its too loud. Is there a way where I can stream on my Xbox while adjusting the volume on my laptop for my viewers so I can’t hear it? I have tried various things and ended up messing my whole audio up as there was a eco but I have fixed it now haha

this was yesterday (not sure if I can post links)

Facebook stream, click here

Thank you :)

The question is more asking about physical connection and routing methods. How are you getting your xbox sound into OBS? How are you adding the spotify audio to OBS?

Additionally, is there any reason you can't turn up the volume of your desktop audio in OBS? If it's already at 100%, you can add a Gain filter on it and raise it further using any positive value.

Also, it would help if you posted a log of a recent stream/recording attempt.

Sorry guys I have been away I’m back now ...

So basically I play on my Xbox and capture the game footage via the avermedia capture card. Everything works fine. When I do play on my Xbox the sound comes through my laptop also. But I mute my laptop while I play. I tried to play music via Spotify but my laptop needs to be turned up for that but then I can hear it while I am trying to game. So id like a way where I can adjust my music, via a program or something without a mixer. Is this possible

I have tried to do this but its so hard, all i want is my spotify to play through my stream and for me to adjust it, but i also do not want the music to come through my headphones. All the youtube videos for help all seem to be for pc players etc

Managing audio in this manner is not simple or straightforward.

There is no difference between independently managing the volume of a game for your own listening as opposed to the volume your streaming viewers here and Spotify or any other audio source-- as far as your operating system and OBS are concerned, they are just audio sources.

You should be careful about your audience. Spotify does not license their music for broadcast only individuals. My livestream was turned off in about 20 seconds before I knew that.
