Question / Help Multiview

Settings > General > Multiview > MultiView Layout

Right now it's just horizontal/vertical, top/bottom with 8 scenes, or a 24 scene variant.

I've got the same question, but with a different spin - is it possible to create my own MultiView layout options and have them added to the Settings > General > Multiview > MultiView Layout choice list?

I.e., can I create and add a "4x scene plus preview and program" or a "8x scene with only preview" ?

My use case is a live recording environment that has limited screen real estate available, where wasting a row of blank scenes in the 8x layout and/or having 2x program views (one in MultiView and one in OBS...) is undesirable...

Digging deeper - the coding for Multiview is spread through a couple of header, config and source files.
A good C++ developer could probably extend what is there to support additional hard coded views, a determined one might be able to factor things out to make an extendible mechanism - but it would be a lot of work with benefits for only a few of us who are asking for it :-)

Hello.
I am using a Launchpad to switch between the scenes of OBS. I have reserved 4 rows with 8 buttons each. The other four rows are for other purposes. It would be great to have a straight correlation between the multiview and my launchpad.

I for myself did define a scene where I did place the other scenss in (32 ) and did define a permanent preview of this scene. In the german versin this is Fenstermodusprojektor (Szene). The benefit of this is that I do not have to learn the positios by heart. one look and I can see that I have to press the 3rd button in the 4th row on my launchpad...

It is a litle bit hard to translate from a 6pics a row preview to an 8 buttuns a row interface. therefore I did this this way I would be very happy to have a 32 scenes monitoring as an additional option. Because if I once have to jump out of the sequential handling of the scenes, because of repeating a take for example I could do this directly on the touch screen.-)

I also vote for less number of scenes. We have only 3 scenes, so basically 5 extra black boxes are not needed.

I think you can do it. Just right click your scene or source you want to see on your window. Click on "windowed projector". From there you can now costumize your own multiview.
Hi
Is there any way to customize the multi-view layout to different number or windows sizes?

Just adding my voice to this request. It would be great to customize this. I currently have 11 scenes setup. The view of 8 is not enough and the view of 24 is overkill. Would love either more options in general or maybe the option to customize this myself.

A suggestion might be to right click on any of your scenes and choose "Windowed Projector" which will give you a pop-out window of that scene. Same can be done with the Preview and Program views. Right click on them and choose "Windowed Projector" and those pop-out as well. From there you can just drag and size them as you see fit making your own multi-viewer so to speak.

We use this method on an external monitor facing our on-air talent so they can see questions from viewers while we have them up on the program out feed. Plus he likes seeing what he's doing with the equipment he's using - this show in particular is a small engine repair show and he often pulls up parts and needs to make sure they're in frame and in focus.

Whoops - didn't read this reply and I just said the same things. So "What he said!"

In response to the previous, yes you can right click as many scenes as you like and select "Windowed Projector (Scene)". and then manually size and place them on a second screen However it is for monitoring only, I use up to 5 cameras and opening and closing scenes, being able to double click on a scene to quickly change is very useful. A 12 scene version or better still an option to select the number of scenes desired would be fantastic while retaining the double click to transition to a scene. Thanks for a great program.
