Question / Help multicam

I'm using OBS Studio on W10
I need to broadcast the video streaming from many actioncam (3 cams precisely) (the cams are sj4000 by sjcam)

I can connect one of them through USB (not so good if the camera is distant from the PC) or HDMI with the help of a Avermedia Live Gamer Portable.

SO....With just one no big problems....

How can I setup the hardware to connect all the cams?

What's the best setup i could get to stream smoothly with OBS?? (low budget naturally)

Thanks a lot
Bix

For the cost of the hardware required to get that to work with the actioncams, you could probably go with enough monoprice 82ft usb 2.0 extension cables and logitech c920s to cover your camera angles.

Ok this could work but when i plug 2 or 3 cams i would see the same name.... (i'm just guessing cause i've not all the cam ready to try) so how to switch from one to the other?

(a little OT)
How that cable works? if i'm using a laptop with very low energy on the USB ports... does it work connected to a HUB (with power supply)??

That totally depends on the driver for your cameras, if it offers each one as a separate device then OBS may be able to see them all. Plug two in locally and see whether OBS can see each one.

USB 2.0 has quite a long range but you may need power depends on the device, exactly how far do you need these devices away from your streaming laptop?

I've a c930e, i can run a test with one Sj4000 on the same hub and see what happen.... i'll let you know... :D

The monoprice 82ft extension cables I'm talking about have a power port on the device end for high power devices (c920s are low power).
My 930e had problems connected to the hub.... some flickering problem... so i can not use it with the USB 3.0 Hub i have.
BTW two SjCam (powered locally) and connected with a similar cable you suggested works fine together connected to the HUB!! even if USB drivers are always unpredictable and i see the same name for each camera... i'll give a try with 3 of them connected at the same time to the same hub (3.0).

The SJcam connected as PCwebcam through USB are crisp with very low delay and quite cheap so i think it's a good solution for multiple camera streaming. ...i'll let you know.

That's a common problem with USB hubs in general, not specific to the 930e. Webcams tend to work better on different root hubs.

USB 2.0 only have limited bandwidth, enough for a single webcam/capture at 720x480 30fps YUY2 colorspace. Less FPS or more compression (MJPG, H264) may allow higher resolution. For multiple cameras, try less resolution or less FPS in capture settings?

USB bandwidth is shared on all ports on a USB hub, and might be shared on more then 1 port on computer. Check Device manager and view by connection to try to make each webcam go under separate USB controllers.

Most webcams (including 920, 930e) only run at USB 2.0 speed, often with some video compression.
Most USB 3.0 hub, while they can support faster speed, doesn't fix limited bandwidth of slow USB 2.0 devices.

If USB hub or multiple devices are randomly disconnecting, the problem will then be limited power. Powered USB hub that plugs into wall outlet may fix power problems, but won't fix USB bandwidth problem.
