Multi track recording along with webcam?

Hello... As a musician, I like using my web cam and Presonus interface for recording songs that I perform. My Presonus has two channels, one for mic and another for my guitar. After a recording, I would like to add another track with another instrument, like a bass or fiddle or guitar lead break. Can you do this with OBS? I know PreSonus and others have have recording software (DAWs) that, as of now, are too complicated for me. And I think the DAWs are strictly audio.. no video. Any suggestions? Thanks... Tom

If you have mixing demands that are beyond the simple volume slider in the "Audio mixer" widget of OBS, you need a 3rd party mixing app. Within OBS, you can use VST plugins that might implement some mixing feature, or you can use an external live mixing app like voicemeeter: https://vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/

If you want to live mix 3 instruments, Voicemeeter is probably a good candidate for a start. With it, you can position each sound source properly within the room, which isn't possible with OBS alone.
A different approach is the approach done in a studio: record each of the 3 sources separately in its own audio track and mix the final track with an audio postprocessing and mixing app. Audacity is probably a suitable tool for a start, if you don't want a full blown DAW.

Thank you for your reply.
Question: With the "different approach" recording separate tracks into Audacity, how do you get these tracks syncronized with the webcam video recording?

If you extract audio tracks with Audacity, they have the same length as the video. If you don't move audio on the timeline back or forth, and don't change the length of the audio track, your mixed track has still the same length, so you can replace the separate audio tracks with the mixed track with no sync issues.
