Question / Help Multi-Gpus

I'm using game capture, playing on the GTX 1060 and Encoding on my R9 290x (H264 Encoder). I'm not 100% sure it is using it correctly but when playing I take a major fps lose, I've tried NVENC and I get some better fps.

Question: Is it using incorrectly or just not possible to use the R9 to encode with?
