Question / Help Mulitple Capture Card Question

Can two different capture cards be used in the same computer? I stream using a 2 pc setup. i want one capture card for streaming pc, and a second for streaming console games. can they be from different vendors if not used at the same time? thanks.

Generally speaking, if the cards are from different vendors then you should have no driver/level issues (please note that having multiple devices can lead to bus-contention, regardless of the manufacturer, and depending on the bus of the various devices).

If you wish to use multiple cards from the same manufacturer you'll need to make sure that their drivers support such. Blackmagic Design's gear does, as do a few others.

okay - currently using an avermedia gaming hd pci-e card for pc, and the avermedia extreme cap u3 for console. however i get severe lag when attempting to stream via studio with the u3 external capture card on my consoles. what is strange is that obs vanilla doesn't suffer from this. course i could simply unhook my pc cables to the gaming hd and hook the console connections to it.

i appreciate the reply :)

I am using 2 x Elgato HD60 Pro at my system. 1st card for capturing my gaming rig the 2nd one for DSLR as webcam. So there is no any issue. On the other hand the driver I use for both cards are different than they serve on their website.

1. You need to post a log that is from a session where the extreme lag happens.
2. What USB3 port is the device connected to? (i.e. Intel, NEC, etc.)
