Question / Help MP4 videos don't have thumbnail

Several MP4 videos as the sole item in the scene run just fine, but show black in the preview screen.
Is there a way to add a preview frame so I can see the video image?

It should by default show the video in the Preview unless you have 'restart playback when source becomes active' checked; at that point the program 'holds' the video, cued up to start and will only show the first frame in Preview so you know what your viewers will see on the transition.

OK, I turned off the 'restart playback' but now the video starts playing in the preview screen.
If I transition the video to Program, it doesn't restart, it just keeps running.
Isn't there a way to see the first frame in preview and then the video starts when it goes active?

It DOES show the first frame in the Preview in that case (or should; does on my end). I'd been confused by that myself at first, thinking my video was frozen/not showing until I realized that was what it was doing. Your video's first frame may simply be black.
