Question / Help MP4 videos are black.

Hello. Im trying to record mp4 gameplay videos at 60fps, so to change the bitrate, I changed the encoder from (Use stream encoder) to NVENC H.264, in recording settings, under output tab.
obs.PNG

This lets me increase the bitrate, but my mp4 videos after recording are all black, but with the sound still there. If i change the encoder back to (Use stream encoder), (which is the same option), then the video output is fine but blurry as I cannot adjust the bitrate, it is done for me.
Anyone know how to fix this? Am I doing something wrong? Any help will be appreciated.

Ok, things to change:

21:07:05.108: Windows Version: 10.0 Build 17134 (revision: 523; 64-bit)

Windows is out of date, and Game Mode is on by default and cannot be turned off. Run the October 2018 update and turn game mode off. Instructions are in the signature. This mode significantly impacts OBS performance.

21:07:05.108: Windows 10 Gaming Features:
21:07:05.108: Game Bar: On
21:07:05.108: Game DVR: On

Turn those off, too. Same reason.

You've changed the default color space. Is there a reason?

I would set to the default, NV12, and see if the same things happens.

Other than that there's no recording session in the log and so I can't see if there's anything particularly going wrong during recording that causes your issue. What player are you using to check your recordings?

Firstly thanks for the advice. I'll get to doing that when I get on my pc again next (on mobile right now).

I normally use the default Films and TV app to watch them and sometimes Windows media player. Those show the video as black.

Default colour space? Not too sure what you mean by that. I must have changed that when I was trying to get the best settings or maybe the auto configuration wizard did it. Thanks for the reply.

Hello, Ive managed to fix the issue. I disabled Game DVR, Game Mode and Game Bar, updated windows, and restored OBS to factory settings. Everything works fine now. Thank you for taking the time to help me.
