.mp4 is cut into 2 and middle is cut

i was recording a video (around 3 minutes) and then went to go edit it, and there were not only 2 video files, but when i imported them into my resolve editor, i noticed the 2 videos were not connected. like one time im doing one thing then it cuts to like 20 seconds later. please help i dont want this to happen again

I'm a newbie, so take that into account
If you search these forums you'll find plenty of suggestions to NEVER record to MP4 (and why).
What you'll find is a recommendation to record to MKV, then re-encode afterwards if required. As Resolve can handle the MKVs directly, I'm guessing no need to have OBS re-encode, instead edit and re-encode in Resolve
