Simply put, how do I get stereo sound?

I am going to be doing some DJ mixes over Facebook Live. Iv done some test runs and it seems that I am only getting mono although I have set the Channel to stereo. I am new to the software and could have missed something key for my desired setup, so ill state every that could help solve the issue.

I am using an Akai EIE Pro soundcard. I have 2 mono Jacks coming out of the of the L+R Outputs on my mixer and going into 1/2 inputs on the soundcard.

In Settings>Advanced I set the audio to my soundcard, so Akai EIE Pro

I have all the "Audio Devices" disabled and "Channels" set to stereo under, Settings>Audio (Not sure if this is the correct way but it is working when I test the audio in the live stream)

I created an "Audio Input Capture" in the "Sources" section and set it to "Line In (Akai EIE Pro Audio)

I have a webcam that has a mic so a channel for it appears in the "Mixer" section. In the "Properties" of the video channel I have "Audio Output Mode" which can be set to "Capture Audio Only" "Output Desktop" or "Output Desktop". Im not sure what to set it too here so I left it on "Capture Audio Only" and ticked the "Use Custom Audio Device" where I selected "Line In (Akai EIE Pro Audio)"

Thats how I have it set up and and get audio fine but it seems to be in mono. Please let me know what you think is the problem.

Thanks

Check Windows Recording device Properties - is the shared mode of the device set to 2-channels (24 or 16 bit) mode?

Thanks for your reply.

I am currently using my Akai as the recording device. I checked Windows Recording device Properties and I do not see these options.

Playback is set to 16 bit stereo

Hmm... maybe you could try other device? And please, Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...

Do you hear "flat" sound or it just coming from Left (Right) speaker?

Edit: as I see, the device
...The EIE Pro sends and receives four audio channels on a single USB cable...
and not mixes them to Stereo.

And OBS Studio itself, only mixes Stereo inputs into tracks. Or can average sound between both L and R channels if Downmix to mono is checked. The volume balance not implemented yet, so you cannot shift sound to R (L) and them mix it into single track.

I have same concern here. Since OBS detects audio s stereo, in my case here using souncraft MTK. What i need to do or would it be possible with OBS to output or control the channel 1 and channel 2 separate. (Kick drums Channel 1 Snare on Channel 2 keyboard on Channel 3 bass on channel 4 wired mic 1 on channel 5 and mic 2 on channel 6)

If you are on Windows the issue is with windows settings.

Open the audio device properties
Click advanced Properties
click the Advance Tab and uncheck both boxes: "Give Exclusive Control" and "Enable Audio Enhancements"

Now you have 2 separate inputs into OBS
