Monitoring doesn't seem to work

Hello,

I've been using OBS mainly to combat my bad microphone making spiking/unbearable noises. I don't use this for live streaming. My method of countering this is to set up my headset microphone in OBS with some filters like limiters, and monitor it. My monitoring device is set to the digital VB Cable (Don't know how to refer to it properly so here's a link). Whatever the device receives is what it "mirrors" to it's output as a microphone device, and i select this in Discord for example. This used to work fine for a long time, OBS seemed to stop monitoring, even though the setting was enabled. I hadn't touched anything. I've tried 2 reinstalls of the VB cable driver to see if it fixes, but it's not the problem. If i had to change my monitor device to anything else, it won't give any monitoring output. Not much I think I can do alone from here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks <3

This looks more complicated than it needs to be, although I might just be wrong. I don't actually need this for streaming, I only need the microphone effects, and I'm applying it through OBS and mirroring it to the VB cable to use in other apps. I don't have any other devices acting in this, just my headset mic and the VB cable. An echo has never come out of the monitoring. Should I still download Voicemeter for this purpose? Or is there a fix in OBS itself?
