Question / Help Monitoring Audio/Why can't I hear myself?!

I thought this would be a simple thing but I can't seem to monitor my audio output and hear myself as I'm outputting audio to my stream. People seem to be able to do it in Windows, and Wirecast has this ability.

click on Mixer to get new window.

That is the correct screen to turn off that feature. I do have to say, though, that in my experience getting it to work in OBS on MacOS is a very hit-and-miss proposition, whereas in Windows it works very reliably.

Ok so on OBS on my iMac, Audio Monitoring is there, but on the version on my MacBook Air, which I stream from, it's not there.

Then you're not using the same version of OBS on both machines. The one on the Air needs updating-- although before doing so check and make sure you should, as the latest OBS (20.x) does not work on version 10.9 of MacOS or older.

Ha, yeah, on my Air it's OBS 0.16.2. Don't think that's even OBS Studio, need to redownload it.

Haha it was OBS Classic. All fixed now. I don't know how I didn't work that out.
