Question / Help monitoring audio out

No difficulties to capture/intercept audio into OBS Studio ( already have Soundflower, Line-in, Hijack, been using these tools for years ..... ) but I can't find a way to monitor the audio output like I could do with WCast, it seems that there has never been a provision to "Listen" to the outgoing PGM, no routing to the output path of a Mac.

Did I miss anything or is the heavy focalised Gamers World, that OBS is relying on, the reason why an audio monitoring was not implemented ?

I could always intercept one of my sources, but the right way to monitor is to listen to the SUM of what OBS is pushing out, it's not enough to just keep an eye on the level meters.

Anything I could/should do ???

/confused/

Thx for your suggestion, but as I need to say it way too often : those who can read have the upper hand on events.

If you had correctly read my post, you would have seen that I am very well aware & already using Line-in.

And while OBS is fed with the signal of a Blackmagic Design Mini-Recorder, Line-in does NOT catch the audio of this source, although it is present in the dropdown list.
Even if it could, it would not play the audio that is coming OUT of OBS, that is a mandatory element of any "mixing/switching" video software.
OBS doesn'seem to incorporate this very basic audio routing.
However nice this open source dev might be, the clever guys behind this app have stilll a long way to go ......

OBS doesn't do any audio routing or monitoring that I'm aware of, other than the essential function of assigning devices to tracks for recording or streaming. The only way to monitor its output is to stream and access the stream.

So the answer here is yes-- since the simplest way to monitor a stream was always just to access the stream and so see and hear what the end-users are receiving, it seems that audio output monitoring was never implemented. You could ask them, I suppose, but being less condescending would go a long way there. Unless, of course, all you need is the upper hand.

Sorry I was of no help.
