Monitor and Output status in Audio Mixer

We are having issues trying to fix an echo in our recorded audio. We tried some settings but none of them worked. Unfortunately we left the "Audio monitoring" for the Mic/Aux in "Monitor Only (mute output)" and we lost all the audio from our session.
Since when the monitor is still active there is no easy way to make sure the audio is being recorded while recording, it would be very useful to have some kind of warning for that:
1. In the Audio mixer window, at the bottom of each signal, probably on top of the mute button and the cog, we can have a red/green signal to show Output ON, if it is green, the output is ON and the sound is recorded, if it is red, the output is Off and the sound is not being recorded.
2. The other option could be to have a warning after start recording that the sound output is off and sound is not being recorded.

I am not sure if I am the only with this problem, or if is there some feature to make sure that everything is working as expected but this would help specially with those less familiar with all the configs and settings of the software.
