Hello people,

I'm a mod for a few smaller twitch streamers that use OBS, sometimes they ask me to figure something out they are strugeling with or
with a problem they have.
My question is, is there a way to start a stream, but not actualy be online on twitch? or at least a way that people can't see your online?
I'm just trying to help simulate problems they have and find quick fixes for them while they are streaming. i'm not a streamer myself and
currently not interested in becomeing one. but thanx to running those tests i'm actualy getting followers that i don't want XD.

so can i run OBS + Twitch + a game and hide myself from being found as a online streamer?
I try to get as close to actual streaming, even have people i can ask to join as vieuwers for testing, but i don't want random people showing up.

People often solve this by having a "Starting Soon" scene in addition to their real scenes. In this "Starting Soon" scene, they put some static image that has only some text like "Starting soon". With this scene active, and muted all audio, they start their stream whenever they like and do whatever preperations they need before actually streaming.
As soon as they are ready and enough viewers have gathered and the "starting soon" scene is actually visible on Twitch, so the stream is really working, they switch to their real live scenes, activate all audio, and start action.

If they use studio mode, they can also edit and prepare the other scenes behind the scenes on the left preview, as long as they don't click the transition button.

Most streamers will have a second account just for technical testing. You can create a second Profile just for the testing account in OBS, so you can swap back and forth easily without having to log out and in again each time.
