Mixer microphone not working in stream

Hi Everyone,
I am using a Numark mixer in my stream. it has a jack in the front for a mic. I simply cannot hear the mic when i stream, however the music is fine. Do i need to just get a usb microphone and add that to my stream or is there a setting where i can use the mixer mic?
