Bug Report Missing Characters

Hey there,
I have a little problem with OBS Studio, which is that if i add a currently playing song name via text source into the scene, it does not show all characters (Song titles sometimes contain japanese symbols or other special symbols which are also not shown). Is there a way to fix this? The original OBS had no problem with showing all the characters. Also, will text scrolling be implemented too? I miss that feature a lot and these two things keep me from using OBS studio, which has some great improvements already over the original OBS..
Welp, awaiting a response :)

Nope, sorry, nothing changed for me. :/ But I've noticed a setting for text inside the "Select Font" window which is called "Writing System" and it shows different languages in there... Does OBS Studio not support different languages in one text window anymore? As I've said in the other post, everything worked fine in the original OBS... Also, umlauts work fine, it's really just the Japanese symbols and other special symbols... (such as 【, 】, 「 or 」) Hope there's a fix for this soon (Also for that text scrolling c:) Even though it didn't work, thanks for your response!

So far i only found "Meiryo" working with those symbols, its probably a bug (a few versions back obs even crashed when those symbols were showing) and will get attention eventually.

Probably not a bug actually, most likely just that the font you're using does not contain the language symbols required to render the text. The way that windows normally operates is that if you render text in another language and the font does not have the character it's being asked to render, it will switch to a font that has the required character. We're using a rendering engine that renders fonts directly via the font file rather than the operating system, so it doesn't currently have that functionality.

I'll see about adding a means of doing that in the future, however, because it is indeed somewhat of an inconvenience.

So the original OBS had that feature? Wow, I really thought that the font contained the symbols because they looked like it... Well, I'll just wait until it's added then. :)

Hope this gets added eventually, though the progress on OBS Studio outside of that has been terrific so far, so a big thanks for that anyhow. :)

edit: on that note, the way bolding works in OBS Studio, is also only functional in some font sets. (probably in those that have a set for bolded characters. While the OBS Classic/Windows method is pretty functional to bold anything decently)
