Question / Help Mirror effect on computer

I have version 21.1.2 64bit and didn't have a problem capturing my screen the first time I had OBS installed. Was recording websites fine. Had to re-install and now I can't get rid of the mirror effect. Have watched several YT videos but nothing helps.

That doesn't answer my question, because this is not an issue at all, this is expected behaviour when recording the OBS screen.
Don't record the OBS screen, then you won't see this.

Let me explain. I open the website I want to record and then I open OBS over that hence recording what that website is doing. Worked fine before I re-installed. This video was done using OBS.. https://www.facebook.com/victorianstormchasers/videos/2213899591953949/

Like I said, don't record the OBS screen, then you won't see this. It's just like a hall of mirrors, very normal when you are recording the program that's doing the recording.

WTF? Did you just dismiss what I posted above? I've done this before no problems as I've explained. I'm not recording OBS! I'm recording another website underneath it and I've provided evidence of this.

So, if I start from the beginning, what option do I choose if I want to record my screen? I'm not playing a game or wanting to do a live stream.

Don't worry. Have worked it out myself. Was choosing the wrong option. Wanted Window Capture but was choosing Display Capture.

You posted a screenshot of OBS while using Display capture, which means OBS will be shown in the preview when you are looking at OBS on your screen and thus will cause the hall of mirrors effect.

That's right. I think I explained what I was trying to do in the OP and I don't understand why you couldn't have just said I was using the wrong option?

Because for all I know you intended to use display capture to record websites, which is perfectly possible.

I have the same problem, when I chose window capture, the mirroring screen is appear, I can't record the main window I need.
